My name is Mike Wolff and I
have been practicing Massage Therapy for 10 years. I went to
school on the Big Island of Hawaii and loved every day I was
there. The energy is beautiful there and it seems this island
is a magnet for healers. I met many different healers and realized
that physical massage was great but I also knew I wanted to do
more than just work on the physical aspect. I have been doing
Reflexology, Raindrop Therapy, Hot Stone Massage and Reiki for
many years, and I recently had a vision of chakra lights for
healing. I have always believed that Chakras exist in our energy
system even though they are not seen and I wanted to work
more with that energy system. Meridians are not seen either,
and yet acupuncture is now accepted in the West. Maybe Chakra
Therapy will also be one day.
With the help of a good friend with lighting and electricity
experience, I built the Chakra Light System. I added Pure Quartz
Crystals under every light to enhance and focus the light down
on the body for a more intense experience of Color Light Energy.
Now I am proud to say I own Calgary's ONLY
Chakra Crystal Light Therapy System and I combine that
with my massage practice. Chakras are energy centers in the body.
I deal with the seven major chakras which run along the spine.
These seven chakras all correspond with glands of the endocrine
system as well as the seven colors of the rainbow. Each Chakra
is a focal point for life force relating to physical, emotional,
mental and spirit interacting as one holistic system. My purpose
is to balance Chakras with the lights. By shining these lights
on the body, it can take in what it needs to balance. Some chakras
may be weak and closed while others can be overactive and too
open. The lights are all one level power and the body knows what
to take in to re-balance and/or stimulate itself.
Chakra Therapy is also color therapy. The coloured light energy
is absorbed through our electro-magnetic field called the Aura.
It can be absorbed by our eyes and skin. Every cell in the body
needs light energy- thus color energy has widespread effects
on the whole body. A short Chakra color synopsis: Red relates
to the base chakra, orange the sacral chakra, yellow the solar
plexus chakra, green the heart chakra, blue the throat chakra,
indigo the brow chakra sometimes referred to as the third eye,
and violet relates to the crown chakra.
I believe the body heals on an energetic level before it heals
physically. Have you ever felt a cold or flu coming on. You just
didn't feel 100% yet there were no physical symptoms. Your energy
system was already affected and intuitively you knew it. The
opposite is also true. You can heal the energy system and the
physical can follow, depending on variables such as your diet,
sleep, exercise, thought process.
In my studio sessions I have a massage table with chakra lights
hanging above it. On the physical level I offer Hot Towel/Stone
Massage therapy to boost the circulatory and immune systems,
increase energy level, and help detoxify the body. The towels
are placed in hot water (Peppermint oil can be added for increased
detoxification), and they are placed on the individual parts
of the body I am massaging. Not only is this great Hydrotherapy
because it is a wet heat but it feels like heaven, especially
on the feet. I can also do reflexology for the feet, which can
stimulate all the organs in the body indirectly through the feet.
For those who like aromatherapy, I can also add Raindrop Therapy
for a super detoxifying session. To ground a person I also intersperse
Hot Stones throughout the session.
After finishing the back, the Chakra Lights are shining
on the back while massaging the legs. The Chakras run through
the body horizontally, so they are in the front and back. As
I massage the legs the chakras are bathed in the coloured light
that is appropriate for each Chakra. Then the client turns over
so they can receive the Chakra Lighting for the front of their
body. Specific Chakra music will also accompany this experience.
I also do Reiki and Qi Gong to add more energy healing to the
session. Reiki is laying on of hands with the specific intention
of transferring universal energy or Qi through myself to the
client. This is not my energy, it is life force energy that is
all around us but not always consciously utilized. Breathing
in a very mindful way which I learned in Qi Gong training helps
me to constantly replenish with Qi in order to do this work without
tiring.
The treatment lasts for 1 hour and 20 minutes and can be
altered according to your needs. Some clients want more energy
work while others want more massage and reflexology. It is very
individual and can change from one treatment to the next depending
on the client's personal life situation. The cost of a treatment
is $90.
$10 from every treatment goes to the client's charity of choice.
I have always wanted to help make the world a better place but
as one person always felt overwhelmed by it all. Because there
are so many causes out there I thought the best was to give back
from the treatments and to give the client the option of where
they want it to go. This way we are "healing the world together,
one person at a time". I will need the name and address
of the organization when you arrive and then a cheque will be
placed in an envelope and mailed the next day. If you don't have
a charity, don't worry, I have many to choose from.
I also offer Mobile Hot Towel/Stone massage. Couples are also
welcome and another female therapist joins me to give a great
couples treatment. The Chakra Light System is only available
in the studio because the lights are not easily transported.
