Natural Healing

by Dr. Raj Rakhra

Humans live on one quarter of what they eat; On the other three quarters lives their Doctor.
(Inscription on Egyptian pyramid)

Prolonged physical and mental stresses gradually lower our resistance to disease. Our body, mind and spirit are continually subjected to an endless assault by the fast pace society, polluted environment and excessive consumption of processed food. These are some of the underlying causes of most diseases, illnesses and imbalances.

Diagnosing the U.S. Health crisis in the January 1997, Alternative Health Digest, Dr. Benjamin M.D. director of the Arizona Center for Health and Medicine concludes, "Many patients and physicians are being turned off by conventional medicine because it does not deliver the health it promises." It has taken away our power and control, it's costing us our fortune. It has not made us feel any better and often it creates more diseases than it resolves. The field of Drugs and Surgical disease care has rapidly grown and continues to grow. The issue is not whether someone practices Allopathic Conventional Medicine or Alternative therapies. It is about offering what is best of everything to our patients. Conventional medicine is locked into dogma that believes that its way is the only way. They deny you have any alternatives to their drugs and surgeries. But you do have choices. Many of the patients I see in my Ayurvedic and Naturopathic practice are medical refugees, who have been abandoned by conventional medicine.

Natural cure is a progressive method of treatment, which aims at eliminating the basic cause of disease through the rational use of elements freely available in nature. It is not only a system of healing, but also a way of living in tune with the internal vital forces or natural elements comprising the human body. It is a complete revolution in the art and science of life and living.

Natural cure is based on the realization that a human being is born healthy and strong and that he can stay as such by living in accordance with the law of nature. Fresh air, sunshine, proper diet, exercise, scientific relaxation, right mental attitude along with prayer and meditation all play their part in keeping a sound mind in a sound body. Ayurveda and Naturopathic principle believes that disease is an abnormal condition resulting from the violation of the natural laws. These violations lower the vitality resulting in irregularity of the blood, lymph, and accumulation of waste matter and toxins. Faulty diet has effects on the digestive system. It stagnates the lower bowl, the kidneys and lungs are overworked and they cannot get rid of these harmful substances as quickly as they are produced.

The Basic principle in natural cures:
The first and most basic principle of Natural cure is that all forms of diseases are due to the same cause. The accumulation of waste (Amma) materials and bodily refuse in the system.

These waste materials through the organs of elimination are effectively eliminated in the healthy individual. But in the diseased person these wastes are steadily piling up in the body through years of faulty living such as wrong eating habits, stress, processed and refined foods, improper care of body and habits creating nervousness and stress, worry, over work, and excesses of all kind. The only way to deal with such disorders is to employ methods which will enable the system to throw off these toxic accumulations.

The second principle of natural cure is that all acute diseases such as fevers, colds, inflammations, digestive disturbances, skin eruptions are nothing more than self initiated efforts by the body to throw off accumulated waste materials.

All chronic diseases such as heart diseases, diabetes, rheumatism, asthma, and kidney disorders are the results of continued suppression of the acute diseases through harmful methods such as drugs, some contaminated vaccines, and narcotics.

The third principle of Ayurvedic and Natural method of cure is that the body contains an elaborate healing mechanism which has the power to bring about a return to a normal condition of health, provided right methods are employed to enable it to do so. In other words, the power to cure diseases lies within the body itself and not in the hands of the doctors or healers.

Methods of Natural Treatments
Readjust the human systems from abnormal to normal conditions, help improve the functions and the constructive principles of nature. Such methods remove accumulate toxic material from the body without injuring the vital organs. They also stimulate the organs of elimination and purification to help them function effectively.
Regulate the diet to get rid of accumulation of toxins and restore the equilibrium.

Exclude the acid forming foods, including proteins, fats and starches for a week or more as required on an individual basis.

If the body is overloaded with morbid matter, as in acute diseases, a complete fast for a few days may be necessary for the elimination of toxic material. Fruit juice, water and some vegetable broth ma0000000y be taken during the fast. A simple rule is try not to eat heavy foods when you are sick, stick to a light liquid diet and wait for the return of a natural healthy appetite. Loss of appetite is nature's way of warning that no burden should be placed on the digestive system. Colon Hydrotherapy or Enema may be suitable methods to help the body to rid itself of toxins.

An Ayurvedic herbal compound Triflax Forte has been used for centuries to help the body to get rid of the morbid waste and balance all the doshas. It detoxifies and supports the liver, gall bladder and colon. It also clears the skin and the whole digestive system without any burden and has very gentle laxative effects. It can be used for long periods of time. Thus, a well balanced diet, sufficient rest, moderate exercise, massage and sunbath, pure drinking water and right mental attitude can ensure
